The sixth edition of A Taste of Málaga fair will this year be held along the Paseo del Parque in Málaga from the 6th to the 10th of December to coincide with the national bank holidays on the 6th and 8th.
People are encouraged to visit, with the opportunity to taste a large selection of both new products and traditional foods such as honey, oil, olives, cheeses, vegetables, wines, homemade beer, and many more delicacies from all over the province. In addition, visitors will be able to purchase items directly from the producer.
Many of the foods will come from the surrounding rural areas including the Sierra de las Nieves. The cuisine of the Sierra is characterised by its Muslim influence and the use of local products. Popular dishes are migas rondeñas, pork leg stew, gachas de harina with honey, almond cheese and sopa de los siete ramales. Among the deserts that stand out are the Yemas del Tajo (from Ronda) and the almond bread of Tolox. Many of these dishes will be available to sample at the fair, providing visitors with an insight into local products and a chance to sample local delicacies.
The fair contains a wide program of activities including contests, presentations, tastings, raffles, workshops and cooking demonstrations by professionals from the gastronomic sector. These will take place at the Eduardo Ocón Municipal Auditorium.
